Very satisfying answer indeed. Thank you.
Very satisfying answer indeed. Thank you. I have read that post subsequnetly - Not in the first run. It was ok. But I am referring to the 'full english throttle'.

http://naprapamcham.blogspot.com/2009/03/blog-post_12.html.

మనందరికీ తెలుసు :) But its ok. You don't have to accept it. :))

1.ఈ 'doubtful association' is bound to be there. By the same line of your argument - this telugu is irrelevant in my life too! and more so in the NRI kids. Remember Radhika's Predicament? And even though i am in India, I have no purpose of using telugu - seriously.
2.One may never have one's telugu as the standardised version. Standardiisaton has its advantages too. I discussed such points.
3.Moreover, the villagers lanauge would become irrelevant for himself too. More so if one were to make a new relgion to propagate through Englsh Godess .

Anyway, Please understand that I understand your reasons. I used such reasons to make people realise how irrelavant this telugu is - from all directions. Thus beseeched people to make it relavant. I have gone to the extent of why this has to be the burden of the business class as well. Some eg like: How a

telugumatrmony will make a తెలుగు పెళ్ళిపందిరి irrelavant and make us feel inferior and just a copy paste work too!! And how it is irrelavant to recreate telugu versions of any product so late. eg., Inspite of illiteracy, we will all recognize 123 on bus routes than ౧౨౩!

No point wrtng down my whole of blog agan here. but :))

Thanks again.

@Gaddeswarup:
>>My impression: Just like charkha with Gandhi, both a stratedgy as well as a symbol, so is English with Chandra Bhan Prasad.
yes sir - i am in complete agreement with your comment. I feel the same.

Just as charkha is not a complete replacement for industrialization, English will not replace Telugu. As it is we have been using Sanskritized Telugu so much so that many think that Telugu is deived from Sanskrit, we will probably use more English words in Telugu.
From Bombay plan, Indian ecnomy moved to free market economy, and possibly Chandra Bhan Prasad who moved from Maoism to some sort of capitalism is thinking of strategies in the new cirmstances. From his studies cited above, he sees some progress and English may be one of the tools that he wants to use both for better economic benefits as well as a symbol of empowerment.
Just my two cents. Off and on, I have been reading Chandra Bhan Prasad mainly because he writes clearly and well.gaddeswaruphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16509075029154476375noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-280520459726971533.post-86648073016678223432010-11-17T04:06:45.822+05:302010-11-17T04:06:45.822+05:30About the effects of free markets on dalits, there...About the effects of free markets on dalits, there is another paper by Chandra Bhan Prasad and others, mainly a study of two distrcts in U.P.:
"Rethinking Inequality: Dalits in Uttar Pradesh in the Market Reform Era"
The results are summarised in a BBC blog by Soutik Biswas:
Is the free market improving lives of India's Dalits?gaddeswaruphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16509075029154476375noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-280520459726971533.post-2338231853098235492010-11-17T00:16:36.447+05:302010-11-17T00:16:36.447+05:30Nice discussion. I too like telugu to survive.. for that matter I would not like any thing to be extinct.

But this issue of forcing telugu medium in Govt. schools is something that is to be doubted. If the society is so serious about having the primary education in local language.. why only Govt. schools? make a regulation that all schools need to provide primary education in local language.

I always had issues with insisting on Telugu language.
